ESR Australia (formerly LOGOS Property Group) is planning for construction of a proposed warehouse and distribution centre at Augusta Street, Blacktown. Located in the Huntingwood Precinct of the Western Sydney Employment Lands, the project will create future employment and growth across Greater Sydney.
This website provides information on the project, the planning process, and how to contact the project team.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Augusta Street Warehouse and Distribution Centre includes:
651 construction jobs and 908 full-time jobs once operational
Five industrial warehouses and associated office space
Vehicle access via Augusta Street and a proposed new intersection at the Great Western Highway and the Prospect Highway
Car parking for 946 cars
Riparian planting and landscaping within the conservation areas and along the site boundaries
Upgrades to the intersection of Flushcombe Road and the Great Western Highway
Upgrades to Augusta Street and Flushcombe Road
ASSESSING IMPACTS
Throughout 2022 and 2023, LOGOS prepared a series of assessments to understand the potential impacts of building and operating the facility, and how to mitigate these impacts. This included detailed traffic, visual impact and community impact assessments. These assessments were lodged to DPHI as part of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) lodged with the SSDA.
To view these assessments, please visit DPHI’s Major Projects Portal.
CONSTRUCTION
As part of the planning approval process, ESR Australia is required to develop a Construction Noise Management Plan (CNMP). The CNMP will outline the noise management strategies that will be employed during construction, to minimise impacts on neighbours.
Before construction can start, this plan, along with a series of other management plans, will need to be approved by DPHI.
-
What is high-noise generating work?In NSW, high-noise generating work includes demolition, pile driving, jackhammering, concrete sawing and drilling, excavation, use of loud power tools, and frequent heavy vehicle movements.
-
What is a sensitive receiver?A sensitive receiver refers to individuals, groups, or locations that are particularly vulnerable to environmental impacts such as noise, air pollution, or other disturbances. These can include residential areas, schools, hospitals, aged care facilities, and parks.
-
What is a 'notification'?A ‘notification’ generally consists of sending a letter or email to the surrounding community before construction work occurs.
-
What is human response? In accordance with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Vibration Guideline, human response to vibration refers to the way individuals perceive and react to vibration levels.
Provide your input on our draft Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan
ESR has appointed SLR Consulting to prepare a Construction Noise Management Plan (CNMP) for DPHI approval.
To ensure the CNMP meets the needs of the community, we are seeking feedback on the proposed noise and vibration mitigation and management measures.
Feedback is welcome on all proposed measures but we are particularly seeking your input on:
-
Appropriate times to schedule respite periods
-
Appropriate methods of communication to the community about high-noise generating works
-
Notification timeframes for high-noise generating works
